Micro-needling
Micro-needling is the repeated stimulation and piercing of the skin by the tiny needles. It is a bit like the process of tattooing but without the ink.
What is Micro-Needling?
The repeated puncturing of the superficial surface with a very fine needle stimulates a similar process to wound healing with the laying down of new healthy collagen and elastin. This reverses many of the changes that have happened during the aging process and can even out some of the scarring caused by acne.

Are all micro-needling systems the same?
Most microneedling is performed by rollers. The problem with this is that the needles don’t go vertically into the skin causing more superficial damage than is wanted or is necessary. This causes more swelling and trauma. We use the Derma FNS system, which has been designed to offer a superior Micro-needling system and provide greater comfort for patients during their treatment. The Derma FNS creates approximately 120 insertions per second. The speed of insertion of the Derma FNS and the fact that the channels are vertical minimises post treatment side effects and maximises comfort and results.
Who is a good candidate for Micro-needling?
Micro-needling is less expensive than fractional laser skin resurfacing, is a course of treatments rather than a one off and requires less recovery time. Results are long-lived or permanent. It is good for those wanting to:
The skin looks and feels smoother, firmer and 'blooms'. Pores shrink, uneven pigmentation improves, and fine lines fade.

What happens on the day of treatment?
On the day of treatment the skin thoroughly cleansed before a topical anaesthetic cream is applied for 30 minutes. Once the cream has taken effect the treatment can commence. A full-face treatment can take up to 45 minutes and once complete soothing products will be applied.
After the treatment mild to moderate redness and a mild sunburn sensation should be expected. This settles very quickly and make-up can be worn the next day. Aftercare instructions are provided.
