Dr Marlowe is an infectious diseases Consultant who worked in Adelaide during the SARS outbreak in 2003 and was the regional lead within the public sector. Dr Marlowe trained as a doctor at Bristol University, furthering her career training in some of the most premiere centres for infectious diseases, tropical medicine and clinical microbiology in the world.

Dr Marlowe holds a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has run international clinical trials for the Department of International Development. Dr Marlowe has completed extensive research into mycobacterial diseases, and achieved her MD with University of London as a result.

In addition to general infectious diseases, Dr Marlowe has a particular interest in tropical diseases and infections in returning travellers, chronic infections including tuberculosis, HIV and viral hepatitis.

Dr Marlowe in an appointed consultant within the NHS working previously at the United Bristol NHS Trust and West Area Trust.She has also previously worked with the Health Protection Agency in the South West and collaborated on their TB Programme. Dr Marlowe was also involved in research into hepatitis C with the University of Bristol and the Viral Hepatitis Department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

She currently sits on the Steering Committee for Lyme Disease for the Royal College of GPs and has been involved in writing a definitive online Toolkit for Lyme Disease in the UK and educating GPs about this disease.

Dr Marlowe runs a busy clinic at Spire Bristol Hospital seeing patients nationally and internationally with chronic difficult to diagnose conditions, as well as all diseases in the returning traveller.
